Spend time over the weekend to portioning fruits and veggies into baggies. Sandwiches aren’t the only thing you should be making ahead of time. By the time lunch rolls around the sandwich will thaw out and you won’t need an ice pack. In the morning grab one sandwich out of the fridge and toss it in the lunch box. You can make sandwiches the night before, or even the weekend before, and freeze them. One of the easiest ways to make sure you have lunch ready to go is meal prep. For lunch there are some hacks and tips I employ to make sure I can pack quickly and ensure my daughter gets a good variety along with nutritious choices in her lunch box. To make mornings run a little more smoothly, I try to be as prepared as possible when it comes to things like picking out clothes and packing lunch. School morning can be the most stressful part of everyone’s day here. Amid arguing over outfits to wear, 5,000 requests for them to put their shoes on and trying to get school bags together, I still to get myself ready to be seen in public, make sure each of them has been fed and pack lunch. School morning can easily get out of hand with a kindergartener and 2-year-old. Continue to discuss kindness with your kids daily and read kindness books to encourage your kids to be kind. Pop them into your kids’ lunches every once in a while.ĥ. Some notes ask them to do something for a friend, a classmate, or a teacher.Īnd others just remind our kids how proud we are of them.īecause we want our kids to know unequivocally that they are kind kids with kind hearts. We sometimes add these corny jokes or write “good luck on your test “messages for them on these Black Magic Note Cards.Īnd other days we stick in kindness reminders. It’s a little piece of home our kids get mid-day. When we pack our kids lunches, or when they pack their own lunches, we love sticking in little notes they can find. So we found a way to help our kids remember to be kind during school hours with these kindness lunchbox notes. Raising kind kids takes repetitive, consistent, and constant modeling, practice, and encouragement. We can’t simply tell our kids to be kind and think that’ll be enough. So I needed a way to gently let them know that even if I wasn’t there to say it, I wanted them to be kind at school.īecause raising kind kids isn’t a one-time thing. I can remind them to be kind before school and I can ask them if they were kind after school.īut what I can’t do is encourage them or remind them to be kind during school. We talk about math tests and homework and art class.īut we also talk about who they played with, who they invited to join them, and who they were kind to. And then when my kids pile back in my car a few hours later, we debrief.
